Pricing Transparency at Primo RV Centre

Clear Pricing. Professional Preparation. Complete Transparency.

The Primo Transparency Commitment

At Primo RV Centre, we believe customers should clearly understand how RV pricing works, what preparation is performed before delivery, and what support is included with ownership before making a purchase decision.

Our goal is simple: to provide clear explanations of pricing, preparation, and financing so customers understand exactly how their RV purchase works before they buy.

Purchasing an RV is a significant investment, and transparency helps customers make confident and informed decisions.

The information below explains the key components involved in transporting, preparing, registering, licensing, taxing, and financing a new RV prior to ownership, as well as the inspection, preparation, and reconditioning process for pre-owned RVs.

What’s Included in Your RV Purchase — And Why It Matters

RV pricing includes more than the unit. It reflects transportation, professional preparation, safety compliance, and delivery readiness.

At Primo RV Centre:

  • New RVs include freight and a comprehensive 25-hour Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) with over 170 inspection and preparation points.
  • Pre-owned RVs go through the same inspection process, plus additional reconditioning, mechanical servicing, safety-related work, and deep cleaning.
  • All units are prepared using a structured and consistent process — not variable or undefined standards.

Preparation standards can vary significantly across the industry — and in private sale transactions, comprehensive inspection and preparation processes are often not performed at all.

Why This Matters

The way an RV is prepared before delivery directly impacts:

  • Safety
  • Reliability
  • Long-term ownership costs
  • Overall ownership experience

At Primo RV Centre, our approach is to prepare every RV properly, explain every step clearly, and deliver it ready for use from day one.

Our Pricing Philosophy

The pricing structure used at Primo RV Centre reflects more than 30 years of experience in the recreational vehicle industry and is designed to help customers clearly understand the steps required to transport, prepare, register, and deliver an RV.

Purchasing an RV involves several important logistics, preparation, compliance, and administrative steps before the vehicle is ready for customer ownership.

In some cases, customers may encounter advertised RV prices elsewhere that do not initially include certain preparation, freight, or administrative components, which may only be introduced later in the purchasing process — sometimes after price negotiations have already taken place.

Preparation and delivery processes can vary between dealerships — and in private sale transactions, comprehensive inspection and preparation processes are often not performed at all.

These differences can affect both how costs appear within advertised pricing and the ownership experience customers have once they leave the dealership.

Our goal is to provide clear explanations so customers understand not only the price of the RV, but also the preparation, compliance, and ownership support included with their purchase.

NEW vs PRE-OWNED RV Pricing — Understanding the Difference

Understanding how pricing differs between new and pre-owned RVs helps clarify the preparation, logistics, and work required before delivery.

New RVs Include

  • Freight from the manufacturer to the dealership
  • Pre-Delivery Inspection and Preparation (PDI)
  • Regulatory compliance and certification
  • Full system testing and setup
  • Customer delivery walkthrough and orientation
  • Registration and delivery processing

Pre-Owned RVs Include

  • No freight costs
  • A comprehensive inspection and preparation process equivalent to our new RV PDI
  • Additional reconditioning due to prior use
  • Mechanical servicing and safety-related work
  • Structural and sealant maintenance
  • Deep cleaning, detailing, and cosmetic preparation
  • Registration and delivery processing

Key Difference

While both new and pre-owned RVs are professionally prepared prior to delivery:

  • New RVs are undergoing final-stage inspection before first use.
  • Pre-owned RVs require additional reconditioning to address wear, age, environmental exposure, and prior use.

Regulatory Preparation and Compliance

As part of the regulatory preparation process, recreational vehicles sold and registered in Ontario must comply with provincial electrical and safety regulations, including requirements under the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.

At Primo RV Centre:

  • Units are CSA-certified where required, or inspected through the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) when certification is not present.
  • Propane (LPG) systems are inspected, tested, adjusted, and certified by a TSSA-certified RV1 technician.

These steps help ensure compliance with:

  • Ontario Electrical Safety Code
  • Transport Canada
  • Registrar of Imported Vehicles (RIV)

They also help protect customers by reducing the risk of issues that could affect insurance eligibility, registration, or safety after purchase.

NEW RV Pricing Structure

Freight

Professional Transport and Regulatory Compliance

Freight (New Units Only) — $2,500

Freight reflects the cost of transporting the RV from the manufacturer to the dealership. Because RVs are built at manufacturing facilities located throughout North America, professional transportation is required to deliver each unit before inspection and preparation can occur.

Unlike many consumer goods that can be shipped in standard freight containers, recreational vehicles must be transported individually using specialized RV transport equipment and licensed commercial drivers.

Freight costs in the RV industry are influenced by:

  • Transportation distance
  • Specialized logistics
  • Driver availability
  • Safe handling requirements

Many RV manufacturers are located in regions such as Indiana and other parts of the U.S. Midwest, requiring long-distance commercial transport to dealerships across Canada.

Freight Cost Components

Freight costs may include:

  • Commercial RV transport contractor service charges
  • Transportation insurance
  • Fuel, fuel surcharges, and tolls
  • Driver wages and travel expenses
  • Brokerage services required for importation
  • Import processing
  • Transport equipment wear and depreciation

Freight is a standard and necessary component of new RV distribution.

The Primo Delivery Experience

The Final Step in Manufacturing Quality Control

A Comprehensive 25-Hour Inspection, Preparation, and Customer Education Process

New Unit Pre-Delivery Inspection & Preparation (PDI) — $1,980

Every new RV sold at Primo RV Centre undergoes a comprehensive dealership-wide inspection and preparation process that typically requires approximately 25 hours to complete prior to delivery.

While RVs are manufactured at the factory, the dealership performs the final stage of manufacturing quality control before the unit is delivered to the customer.

This process includes more than 170 detailed inspection and preparation points, covering:

  • Mechanical systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Plumbing systems
  • Appliances
  • Structural components
  • Safety systems
  • Final delivery preparation

What the PDI Process Includes

Preparation work may include:

  • Mechanical inspection of axles, brakes, and suspension
  • Cabinet door and interior adjustments
  • Structural and sealant inspection with touch-ups where required
  • Appliance and system testing
  • Installation of a 12-volt battery and battery box
  • Propane tank filling
  • Interior and exterior cleaning and detailing
  • Final quality control verification

Customer Delivery Walkthrough & Orientation

As part of the Primo Delivery Experience, customers receive a personalized delivery walkthrough and orientation that typically lasts approximately two hours. Instruction includes:

  • Electrical and battery systems
  • Plumbing and water systems
  • Appliances and HVAC operation
  • Slide-outs, awnings, and exterior systems
  • Routine maintenance and ownership best practices

PDI Cost Explanation

The PDI fee primarily reflects technician labour and does not represent the full cost of the complete inspection, preparation, and delivery process.

PRE-OWNED RV Pricing Structure

Pre-Owned Inspection, Preparation & Reconditioning

Everything We Do on New Units — Plus Additional Reconditioning

Pre-Owned Inspection, Preparation & Reconditioning — $2,598

Every pre-owned RV sold at Primo RV Centre first undergoes a comprehensive inspection and preparation process equivalent to our new RV Pre-Delivery Inspection.

This means pre-owned units are:

  • Fully system tested
  • Safety checked
  • Mechanically inspected
  • Prepared using the same structured process applied to new RVs

However, pre-owned RVs require additional work beyond inspection due to prior use, age, environmental exposure, and normal wear.

Additional Pre-Owned Reconditioning Includes

Pre-owned preparation may include:

  • Full bearing and brake service, including bearing replacement and grease repack
  • Mattress replacement in the primary bedroom when applicable
  • Roof cleaning and reconditioning
  • Tire replacement when required
  • Inspection and replacement of LPG hoses, regulators, and propane tanks where required
  • Adjustment, testing, and verification of propane appliance burners for proper and safe operation
  • Replacement of LPG, CO, and smoke detectors as needed
  • Full sealant inspection and resealing of roof and seams
  • Frame inspection with rust treatment and touch-ups where required

Deep Cleaning & Cosmetic Preparation

Every pre-owned RV undergoes a complete deep cleaning and detailing process prior to delivery.

This includes:

  • Full interior cleaning and sanitation
  • Exterior washing and detailing
  • Removal of debris, residue, and prior-use buildup

In addition, units may receive:

  • Minor cosmetic touch-ups where appropriate
  • Attention to visible wear areas to improve overall presentation

Mechanical reliability and structural integrity are prioritized first. Cosmetic preparation follows to ensure the RV is clean, presentable, and ready to enjoy.

Why This Matters

This is not cosmetic preparation alone — it is a comprehensive reconditioning process designed to:

  • Reduce the risk of mechanical issues
  • Improve safety and compliance
  • Address wear, age, and environmental exposure
  • Extend the usable life of the RV
  • Deliver a clean, ready-to-use RV from day one

Industry-Level Preparation Standards

Our pre-owned RV preparation process is designed to meet or exceed recognized industry benchmarks, including RVDA-used unit certification guidelines.

In practice, this means our units are not simply inspected — they are:

  • Fully evaluated across all major systems
  • Mechanically serviced where required
  • Reconditioned to improve reliability and usability
  • Prepared to a consistent, dealership-defined standard

Preparation standards can vary significantly between dealerships — our approach is structured, consistent, and clearly defined.

Key Difference — New vs Pre-Owned

  • New RVs: Final-stage inspection, preparation, and setup before first use.
  • Pre-Owned RVs: Full inspection plus expanded reconditioning, servicing, and cosmetic preparation to address prior use.

Additional Requirements for Quebec Pre-Owned Purchases

For customers residing in Quebec, additional provincial safety requirements may apply when registering a pre-owned RV that has not previously been registered in Quebec.

To meet Quebec safety standards, the following may be required:

  • Replacement of all suspension bushings
  • Installation of mudflaps

These requirements are specific to Quebec safety regulations and are not part of the standard Ontario preparation process.

Additional Cost & Optional Service

These items are completed at an additional cost when required.

For customer convenience, Primo RV Centre can also:

  • Coordinate transport of the RV to Quebec for provincial safety inspection
  • Assist with preparation required to meet Quebec registration standards

Why This Matters

Quebec safety requirements must be met, in applicable cases, before a pre-owned RV that has not previously been registered in Quebec can be registered in the province.

Addressing these requirements in advance helps:

  • Avoid delays in registration
  • Ensure compliance with provincial safety standards
  • Provide a smoother ownership transition

Primo Ownership Support

Customers purchasing from Primo RV Centre receive ongoing ownership support designed to make RV ownership easier and more enjoyable.

Primo Priority Program

The Primo Priority Program is designed to provide customers with priority access to service, communication, and ongoing support throughout ownership.

Support may include:

  • Priority access to service scheduling
  • Assistance communicating with manufacturers regarding warranty matters
  • Help coordinating service appointments
  • Guidance with maintenance and ownership questions
  • Assistance navigating non-warranty situations when they arise

The goal of the program is to ensure customers receive consistent support long after the purchase is completed.

Registration & Delivery Processing — $728

The Registration & Delivery Processing fee helps cover the administrative, regulatory, and ownership setup workrequired to properly prepare the RV for customer ownership and complete the documentation associated with the purchase.

This process involves several administrative and compliance-related steps that occur before, during, and after the purchase transaction.

What This Process Includes

The Registration & Delivery Processing process may include:

  • Preparation and processing of ownership documentation and sales records
  • Coordination and processing of RV Care Network enrollment
  • Registration and setup of the Primo Priority Program
  • Coordination of roadside assistance program enrollment where applicable
  • Preparation and completion of regulatory and compliance documentation
  • Administrative processing required to complete the sales transaction
  • Secure record storage and documentation management

Ongoing Administrative Work

In many cases, administrative and compliance work continues after the purchase is completed.

This may include:

  • Finalizing documentation required for registration
  • Confirming program enrollments
  • Maintaining records for compliance and customer support
  • Supporting future service, warranty, or ownership-related documentation needs

Why This Matters

Proper administrative processing is a critical part of RV ownership and helps ensure:

  • Accurate and compliant ownership documentation
  • Proper enrollment in support and service programs
  • A smoother registration and licensing process
  • Reliable recordkeeping for future service, resale, or warranty support

Licensing

Primo RV Centre can complete vehicle licensing for Ontario residents and provide documentation required to facilitate licensing in other provinces.

For Quebec customers, documentation is provided to facilitate registration through the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ).

Taxes

Taxes vary based on the customer's province of residence and applicable tax regulations.

Primo RV Centre is authorized to collect Quebec Sales Tax (QST) for Quebec residents purchasing recreational vehicles.

Appropriate documentation is provided to ensure proper registration and licensing within the province.
